Does Juicing Detox work? Yes! Raw juices and raw foods are full of antioxidant goodness. These antioxidants bind toxins and carry them out of the body.
Drinking a total of 16 to 32 ounces of trace mineral rich juice a day can speed up detoxification, and serve as a maintenance detox program to help keep toxins cleaned out!
Also, vegetable juice is alkaline, and helps release acidic toxins from the body.
There are numerous one or two week juicing detox regimens out there, and these can be beneficial. However, there are also great benefits to juicing every day, for continuous detox.
After all, with all the toxins we are exposed to in our modern day environment, we need something that will help to keep us detoxed.
Juicing is such a great way to get the raw nutrients your body needs. It's a good reason to detox with juice for the rest of your life.
These are those made from leafy greens, work especially well to eliminate wastes and toxins. It is a good idea to include one or more of the greens each time you juice.
Leafy greens include:
Kale, Swiss Chard, Collard Greens,
Watercress, Parsley, Spinach, Cauliflower leaves
Dandelion greens, Deep green lettuce (not Iceberg)
Pumpkin leaves, Sweet potato leaves
Broccoli stems, Wheat grass, Barley grass
Make sure your juicer is capable of juicing leafy greens. Every day my wife and I make sure to include some greens in our juicing detox. Many of these I get from our vegetable garden. Start slow with juicing greens, as too much too fast can give you a tummy ache. Even after your stomach gets used to it, eight ounces of green juice a day is probably quite enough.
Along with leafy greens, we usually include some of the following in our daily juicing detox:
Celery, Carrots, Cucumbers
Tomatoes, Beets, Asparagus
Zucchini, French Green Beans
Green Pepper, Ginger
Cantelope or Watermelon
An Apple, Peach, Grapes, or Pear
Having your own healthy vegetable garden is a great way to improve the nutrition in your juicing detox. For one thing,
you can fertilize your garden with sea minerals. This gives your plants the full spectrum of nutrients found in the ocean, and can actually increase the vitamin content of your veggies. There is extensive research that seems to imply that crops fertilized with sea minerals may actually help to prevent certain diseases. It is worth checking out. Our bodies need to dispose of the junk from unhealthy food choices, the environment, and the waste products of our bodies. If we don’t detox these chemicals, pesticides, drug residues, heavy metals, and food additives, along with by-products from digestion such as yeasts, fungus, and parasites, they clog up our digestive system.
When our elimination systems get behind in their work, the toxins back up into the supporting systems. Mucus and decay build up in the intestines, making them inefficient at absorbing nutrients.
Poisons are absorbed back into the bloodstream. The liver then becomes overwhelmed, and can’t do its job of purifying the blood. This causes more toxins to build up in the bloodstream. However, juicing detox can help to restore the balance.
Our kidneys work hard to excrete urine that is now full of toxins. When the kidneys get overwhelmed, some waste may be re-circulated. (A little juicing detox could help to alleviate this!)
Next, our respiratory system is called upon to help remove the toxins. It loads the toxins into mucus and phlegm, so that we will blow the toxins out of our nose, or cough them up.
When this happens, what do we do? Take an antihistamine, shutting down the efforts of our respiratory system to get rid of the toxins. (Juicing detox is looking better all the time, isn't it?)
In a last ditch effort, the body calls upon the big gun, the immune system, to help get rid of the toxins.
While the immune system is pre-occupied with something that isn’t supposed to be its job, infections that normally wouldn't be a problem for the immune system go unchecked. One such infection is the viral infection that produces warts.
But when the toxin buildup problem is dealt with, it is pretty amazing that many times the warts just disappear. Oh, the potential health benefits of juicing detox!
Still overloaded with toxins, our bodies finally send the toxins to be stored in fat cells called cellulite.
This is the marbled, orange peel looking fat that can be found on the thighs, hips, and buttocks.
This is that stubborn fat that doesn’t want to go away even when we manage to lose weight.
Storing toxins in fat cells is the body’s way of protecting our organs and delicate tissues from these acidic toxins.
The only answer to this toxin dilemma is to change our diet and detoxify our bodies.
A good place to start is to get rid of junk food and processed foods that occupy so much space at the grocery store. You know, the ones that are filled with white sugar, white flour, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, artificial colors and artificial flavors.
Juicing detox as a daily lifestyle will help in removing toxins from the body. Along with this, depending on your situation, several other things may be needed.
I highly recommend milling your own wheat, then using the flour to bake your own bread. You can get everything you need from Breadbeckers to do this. We started experiencing "whole grain goodness" (you can’t find this bread in a grocery store) in our house back in 2004. Since then, it is pretty much the only bread I eat.
The cool thing is, it is the most delicious bread you have ever tasted! Over the past 7 years many people have commented that they have never before tasted bread as delicious as ours. Milling your own wheat, baking your own bread is a great addition to detoxing with juicing detox.
After just two months of baking our own freshly milled wheat into bread, not only were my wife and I having daily bowel movements, but I noticed that my immune system had improved dramatically. Cuts and scrapes no longer became red and inflamed.
A few months into baking this bread I cut deeply into my middle finger with my table saw. My wife (who is an RN) said it needed stitches. I asked her if she couldn't just close it up with SteriStrips. She agreed, and went for the antibiotic.
However, because I had noticed such an increase in my immune system, I didn’t use any antibiotics on the wound. I just cleaned it good under running water, and she closed it up.
Ten days later I went to my doctor for a cracked rib, and showed him the finger. He confirmed that it was healing nicely, with ZERO redness and inflammation. A strong immune system is a nice thing to have! Do yourself a favor and look into the possibility of making this bread yourself.
